Following the introduction of the Children First legislation, Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh has engaged on a whole school basis with the relevant training available to ensure that we, as a school community, can work to reduce the risk of harm to children in the school.
Further information on Children First is available here
The school is publishing it’s Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment below.
We ask all parents to read this statement carefully and consider the implications for you and your child. We are using this opportunity to remind all parents of the ways we reduce the child protection risks to your children while the are in school.
Some key points to note:
- All visitors report to the office (No parents should approach the classroom doors which open on to the yard)
- All collections of children is done through the office (avoid break times)
- Children are not to be collected early on wet days – this causes confusion and adds to the risk of a child going missing
