We were so lucky to have Mr. Costa come to talk to Ms Healy and Ms Kelleher’s 4th class last week. As part of science week our class started a new STEPS engineering project.
We completed a quiz to see what type of engineer we would be – mechanical, sound, chemical, electrical or civil to name a few! This decided our project groups and we began planning how to improve our communities through engineering.
Mr Costa is an engineer in Stryker so we had some interesting questions for him. He explained about his job which involved making coils to treat brain aneurysms. We watched a video which showed the 5 coils being put into the enlarged blood cell in the brain. It was fascinating!
We have come up with some exciting ideas and can’t wait to start building our prototypes – stay tuned!
