We had an amazing day in Coiscéim last Friday. It was Mental Health/Crazy Hair day in the school and we celebrated people being different.

Some of the pupils from Ms. Hennessy’s class (5th) came to Ms. Moylan’s class and were able to experience how our students learn in a different environment. They joined us for our daily lesson on feelings, using the ‘zones of regulation’ program.

They were all brilliant identifying the different zones and expressing how they felt themselves.

Then they paired up with my students and worked on an activity matching situation cards to the different zones. This was fantastic teamwork and they discussed their answers with the rest of the class. At the end we talked about how the same real life situation can affect people in different ways.

At the end of the lesson we reflected about how everyone is different and how we should feel proud of it.
