Dear Parents / Guardians,
Re: Notification from the Board of Management of Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh regarding the Board of Management’s Review of the Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment
As you are all well aware, the protection and welfare of our students is of paramount importance in our school. We have now fulfilled our statutory obligation to annually review the school’s Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment. The statement has been updated in line with the New Child Protection Procedures for Schools 2025 along with input from our Student Council, Parent Association, Staff and Board of Management. It was ratified by the BOM at our meeting on the 12th February, 2026.
In undertaking this Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment, the Board of Management has endeavoured to identify as far as possible the risks of harm that are relevant to this school and to ensure that adequate procedures are in place to manage all risks identified. While it is not possible to foresee and remove all risk of harm, the school has in place the procedures listed in this risk assessment to manage and reduce risk to the greatest possible extent.
Our Deputy Principal, Alan Carney is the Designated Liaison Person (DLP) who will act as the point of contact for Tusla, An garda Síochána and others in matters relating to Child Protection concerns.
I thank the School Community for their collaborative efforts I this review and feedback we received. The updated Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment is now available on our website- Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment for viewing along with all other school policies or available in hard copy on request from the school office.
