The Department of Education & Skills has issued updated advice to school communities (staff, students and parents) in relation to Covid-19 (Coronavirus).

It states: “The most important action we can take to protect ourselves from Covid-19 is regular hand-washing and good respiratory hygiene.” Click here to read the advice in full.

It is of the utmost importance that your child & all school users have their own small towel to dry their hands after washing. Parents should teach your child to cough / sneeze into a tissue, then to wash their hands (catch it, bin it, kill it). We will reinforce this in school also.

As is always the case, children who are unwell should not attend school.

The Dept of Health has today issued this letter to parents who have recently travelled from affected regions.

More advice to parents can be found here (hspc.ie)

It is important to reassure your child that hand washing, use of tissues when coughing etc are normal practice of good hygiene.

Any further updates from the DES will be shared with you.
