In the first term this year, Ms de Rís’s Rang a Dó wrote a book about what they liked and didn’t like during Lockdown 2020. They titled the book ‘Lockdown Likes and Dislikes’. They contacted, Steven Skeldon, Archivist and he was delighted to accept the book into the Cork City and County Archives. The hope was that the pupils would get to meet Mr Skeldon but with continued Covid restrictions this didn’t come to pass. The book has now been delivered to the Archives and is there as part of history. Mr Skeldon can be seen here enjoying the book. Future generations will have it as a resource to help their understanding of what life was like for young people living through the Covid-19 pandemic. Congratulations to all the pupils in Ms de Rís’s class for their excellent work. Mr Skeldon very kindly gifted a book called ‘Voice of the Many’ to Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh in appreciation of the donation to the Archives. ‘Voice of the Many’ is a  publication which celebrates the rich local archival material that has been preserved in the Cork City and County Archives from the period 1914-1916. Many thanks to Steven for this.
