In June 2018, Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh was awarded the Health Promoting School Flag.
We invited the programme co-ordinator for the HSE, Margaret Crowley, to raise the flag and to speak to us about the importance of promoting positive mental health. She was really impressed with all our hard work.
The children from the Health Promoting School Committee showed her our gratitude tree, our buddy benches, our meditation room and our Active School’s walkway. They also talked about our kindness award, the mindfulness colouring sheets available in classes, the movement breaks that we do during school and how we promote healthy eating and an active lifestyle for a healthy mind.
This year we are continuing to work equally hard in promoting positive mental health. Stay tuned!
