Remaining with the theme of abstraction and the terrifying, the art club created clay monster heads. They moulded the clay into their individual shapes by pulling, prodding, banging, squishing and squashing – with great enthusiasm. Using clay tools and their hands, their monsters grew and took on all-together alarming forms and facial features that were decorated with beads, sticks, buttons and corks. The art club then painted their monsters using colours and patterns that exaggerated these pieces to create an overall startling effect.
