The Cór Fhéile music festival takes place on the 2nd April 2020. It is taking place in City Hall in Cork city. Here at Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh we are learning two songs and two tunes for the performance. We are learning two Jamaican folk songs by Harry Belafonte. They are called the Banana Boat Song and Come Back Liza. We are learning two tin whistle tunes – a classical piece of music called Ode to Joy by Ludwig van Beethoven and one Irish traditional piece called Óró Sé do Bheatha Bhaile. I feel very excited for myself and for the school. I personally think we have a lot of talent. We will be dressing up in colourful Jamaican clothes and sunglasses. We will be going to Cork city on a bus which I am also very excited about and we will get to watch the other schools perform on stage. Our music teacher, Mr. Walsh, is teaching us very well and is very enthusiastic about music. Long story short, we are very excited.
