Ms. Thompson’s fifth class worked in groups to first map out the school grounds. They then designed and tested various routes throughout the grounds that would be suitable for use by all pupils as an active school walk-way.

Ms. Halligan helped to pick out the winning design and this group then had to measure the length of the walk-way using a trundle wheel!

Next the group tested the route and decided where the signs for the route should be placed.  Pat McCarthy our hard working caretaker put up the signs the following day!

The whole class got to test out the walk way last Friday and show some fourth class pupils how it works! We hope to be able to show each class level how to enjoy our Active School Walk-way over the coming weeks!
