We all loved this experiment today! We talked about the moon craters and how they are formed. We looked at different pictures of the moon and then we recreated how craters are formed. They predicted and tested the effect of using bigger/heavier and smaller stones as asteroids.

We put a layer of flour on a tray followed by a layer of drinking chocolate powder. Then they took turns throwing stones at the tray from different angles and distances. We compared how the soil below the surface (white flour) was brought to the surface in different ways depending on the height and strength of each dropping.  This was a fun activity and they even asked to do it for a second time!
